First Trip Out! July 4th, 2013

At (nearly) the last minute, we decided to join family at Heavenly Acres Campground in Stanardsville, VA for the 4th of July.
We arrived on the 3rd and came back home on the 5th.

Figuring out where everything will (or won't) go.

Packing, packing, packing.

The storage compartments hold more than I thought they would. :)

A/C Helpers
The A/C is close to the floor, so we clipped in fans to spread the coolness better.

At the campsite.
We put tarps over the tent ends to block some sun and aid in case of rain.

Rear view.

Inside (as we were packing down to head home).

And from the opposite corner.

  1. She's lovely! I just bought a 1969 Wheel Camper Clubwagon, looks very similar. Even the lovely turquoise exterior and the same hideously ugly brown curtains (thankfully, I sew), but our floor isn't quite as brady bunch (odd since ours is a year older). You should hop over to popupportal.com if you are not already there. A wealth of info. And watch out. It's a sickness. We already have a 1988 Jayco Dove at our ranch! WendyLouWho

  2. My family (Mom,Dad, and myself ) had a 1968 WC bought new in Dearborn, MI. We went to Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida in 1969 in that camper. It was similar to yours--8 sleeper, fold-down sink, stove, heater, and fridge. I always got the front fold-out bunk for myself, mom and dad slept in the back. We moved out to Arizona in 1970 from Michigan, and lived in the camper for nearly a month before we got our house. My Dad sold the camper in 1982, after using it every year til then (they bought a truck and fifth wheel). I enjoy seeing the WC again, and reading your blog. Nice renovation on your WC.
